IMPORTS FROM EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES (plus Norway, Iceland, Northern Ireland and Switzerland)

When semen is imported from EU countries, the consignment is not inspected by the border veterinary authorities or subject to customs procedures. Therefore, all you have to do is to give the foreign sperm bank our contact details and fill in the import application form on our website. You can either arrange the transport with the exporting sperm bank or we will send our tank and arrange the transport.

For further use of cryopreserved semen, i.e. insemination, the DNA profile of the dog (semen donor) has been required by the Czech-Moravian Cynological Union since December 2020. Please arrange this with the dog owner.

PRICING

• Semen intake and consultation: 2000 CZK
• Annual storage of 1 pellet: 150 CZK (the number of pellet forming 1 insemination dose varies according to the manufacturer). In case of storage of frozen seed in pellets, the price is 500 CZK for 1 insemination dose.
• Rental of a shipping container for frozen semen (prefilled with liquid nitrogen): 2600 CZK
• The price of transport depends on the address of the recipient (foreign sperm bank).

IMPORT FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EU

Due to the high complexity and frequent complications with transport companies, we currently offer the import of semen from non-European countries, which have the status of a third country for the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, only through the Blendivet clinic in Germany (https://www.hsb-blendivet.de/en/hsb-blendivet/karriere.html). 

Please inform the Blendivet clinic of your plan to import semen from a specific country outside the EU, stating that the semen will be forwarded to us. We will send a container for the semen to Germany, i.e. we will arrange transport. Please fill out the import request form below so that we can contact Blendivet and make specific arrangements. Please also keep us informed so that we know when the shipment of semen from a third country is on its way to Germany.

A number of sperm banks in third countries send semen to the Blendivet clinic, so it is possible to request shared transport from them.

We do not accept any liability related to damage to the semen during transport due to e.g. delayed delivery of the shipment, damage to the container during transport or any other fault of the transport company (see Terms and Conditions). We do not normally insure semen shipments to/from countries outside the European Union in order not to increase the cost of customs duties and VAT. If you wish to insure your shipment, please inform us in advance. Payment for the service associated with the transport of the semen is required in advance of shipment.
